Director

JAY WOELFEL has spent his career working in
all phases of production and postproduction in film, video, and interactive media. On the strength of his body of work, Jay was selected by the United States Information Agency as one of the six best film students in the United States to represent it
at the 1986 Cannes Film Festival. He has since then written and
directed five features.

Jay won the Interactive Academy Award® for Best Documentary for "Titanic," a project he wrote and directed which was narrated by Patrick Stewart. It is one of five awards "Titanic" has won since its release in 1994. In 1993 he won an OBIE and two Emmy® Awards for his production of Nathaniel Hawthorne's “The Birthmark”, which has since aired Nationally on PBS. He also edited the Academy Award® nominated short film “Bronx Cheers” and won a Tele Award for the television pilot "Tilted Television." Jay is also one of the Screenwriters for the film “The Dark Between the Stars”.
